The American Association for Justice, also known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA®), is a membership organization that supports plaintiff trial lawyers. To receive specialty certification from the American Bar Association's National Board of Trial Advocacy requires that attorneys meet strict quality requirements and have significant experience. The process of certification requires an examination, an evaluation of the applicant's writing sample and peer reviews.
The National Trial Lawyers is composed of the top 100 trial lawyers from each state who are invited to join as members based on their excellent qualifications. Among other characteristic, the organization considers the lawyer's reputation and influence.
